  1. Well said. With standardized assessment, teachers are forced to look narrowly at the assessment oriented tasks and learning outcomes. However, to prepare our kids ready for college and future workforce in a global community, we need to help our teachers rethink the paradigm of curriculum design and development to prepare kids’ readiness in the real world.
I am glad that you had this lesson implemented on your peers who know math. I like the way you taught them how to examine the vocabulary. This is an important strategy to help develop students’ math literacy.
Hahah I can see how they resist to “volunteer to learn math.” But I am glad that the technology with play-based learning got them motivated.
Don’t forget to include the lesson plan and the rubric for assessment. Good job!

  2. Nice Job on this lesson!!! Its great that you used technology to supplement a portion of the lesson and it can be used to add to a lesson!

  3. I like the strategy used, because it is heavy on literacy. In my school we are required to use a linguistic objective and this is a great way to satisfy that requirement.
